Bear Hunting

Southeast Alaska Brown Bear Hunting

Brown bear hunts will be held in Game Management Unit 4 on Admiralty Island. The hunts are lodge based, 10 days long, and guided one on one with a licensed and registered guide. All transportation from the lodge to our hunting grounds is accomplished using a 21′ boat with an enclosed heated cabin.

With bear movement highest during the coolest parts of the day, our hunting efforts will be focused on mornings and evenings. However, you should expect to spend daylight until dark, hunting everyday.

Typical Day

A Typical Day

The physical requirements for this hunt are minimal. We spot and stalk each animal, with all hiking done primarily over grass flats and shorelines.

A typical hunting day will consist of leaving the lodge just before daylight, and using a 21' boat to travel to our desired hunting location. At the end of each day you will return to the lodge for a freshly cooked meal and a warm bed.

Spring Bear

Spring Brown Bear Hunting

Our spring Brown Bear hunts start April 29th and end May 21st. These hunts take place during the breeding season, so expect long hours of glassing over the grass flats.

Fall Bear

Fall Brown Bear Hunting

Our fall Brown Bear hunts start September 14th and end October 6th. The salmon are running in the streams during this hunt, so most of our time will be spent sitting on the many different rivers we have access to.
