Deer Hunting
Southeast Alaska Deer Hunting
Our Sitka Black-tailed Deer hunts will be held in Game Management Unit 4 on Admiralty Island. The hunts are lodge based, 6 days long, and guided with a licensed and registered guide. All transportation from the lodge to our hunting grounds is accomplished using a 21′ boat with an enclosed heated cabin.
A Typical Day
The rut for Sitka Black-tailed Deer begins at the end of October, and runs through the entire month of November.
Deer hunting will involve easy to moderate hiking. This will be done either on the shoreline, forested areas, or in the muskeg. Muskeg is open/sparsely wooded areas that deer frequently cross during the rut.
We will leave the lodge every morning around 8am, and return between 4pm-5pm.
Bowhunting in Alaska
Bowhunting deer is one of Alaska's greater challenges, but with patience and a little luck you can be successful.
November Deer Hunting
The weather during the rut can vary greatly. Expect the conditions to range from clear and warm, to 30 degrees and snowing.
Be prepared for both dry and wet conditions, and come ready to enjoy the views and the hunt.
