What to Bring on Your Brown Bear or Deer Hunt
Spring and Fall conditions in Alaska can be dry and wet. Our guests have found that layered clothing works the best. A lightweight base layer that can be added to depending on the temperature, and a water proof outer layer that can keep you dry. For our November deer hunters, you can expect snow and colder temperatures ranging from 20-35 degrees.
Required items:
- Warm base layer
- Waterproof outer layer
- Gloves and Hat
- Guests must come with their own rifle or bow.
- We require you to use a .338 caliber or better for Brown Bear. For deer a .308 is the minimum.
- Waterproof boots. (We can provide Xtratuf waterproof boots if necessary)
- Alaska Hunting License + locking tag. These can be purchased online from the Alaska Department of Fish & Game.
Suggested Hunting Equipment:
- Binoculars/rangefinder
- Spotting scope
- Lightweight backpack
We ask that our guests try and arrive with no more than 50 pounds of luggage. You will have access to laundry services at our lodge.
